ABOUT

I am married to David Sheath. Together we planted The Lakes Church, on the Central Coast, 20 years ago. As it has grown I have been involved in serving this church family in many ways, including training and mentoring ministry trainees and volunteers. It has been a privilege to have such a long and deep involvement as part of the church and the wider community. I love spending time with my 3 adult children, 2 daughters in law and Grandson, enjoying nature and going for walks.

I trained and worked as a Social Worker. David and I have been involved in FIEC, now a denomination, from its first days as a support network for church planters and their wives. As a Professional Pastoral Supervisor, I supervise and coach a range of ministry workers and volunteers.

Professional Pastoral Supervision

My understanding is that we are all flawed, on a journey to maturity and are in ministry only by the grace of our perfect, powerful and forgiving God. Ministry can feel relentless, difficult and draining and can begin to impact us and our family. It requires change, reflection and growth to keep up with constant changes and developments of policy and culture. Professional Pastoral Supervision is about supporting wellbeing and growth for the pastor and the ministry they are involved in.

I find it a privilege to walk beside people in the journey and work confidentially with each person on the issues and situations that arise for them. Pastoral Supervision is:

1.    A regular, supportive opportunity to debrief and consider what is happening for you in your work life.

2.    A safe space to step back and reflect on the dynamics, processes and skills learning in the workplace and your role and responses in this.

3.    A chance to proactively & intentionally work to grow and develop amidst ever changing, ethically complex practice of ministry.
